About Us

My name is Kerry, and I am the owner and creator of Bella Claire Baby LLC., which was officially established in August 2007.  My business has been a blessing from God and a life changing experience for me and my family.  I am a wife to a wonderful husband, a mother of two beautiful girls, a daughter of perfect parents, a dental hygienist, and the owner, creator, and operator of two thriving businesses. 

I am blessed to have two perfect parents, who taught me work ethics, the importance of education, and love.  They both offer their endless support and help with all of my goals, including my businesses.  To give the credit where it is most definitely deserved, I must thank my husband.  The unconditional, continuous support and understanding that I have received from my husband has enabled me to turn my hobby into a thriving business.  He goes with the flow, he’s the reasonable rock, and he encourages me to do whatever I want to do, whenever I want to do it!  My husband- a brilliant law professor, practicing attorney, author of numerous legal books and publications, avid baseball enthusiast, and Harley rider– is also a seemingly full time dad, and can be found at home voluntarily making my hang tags, folding boxes, editing my work, assessing my new lines, or assisting in choosing my newest color combination of fabrics, ribbons, and threads!  The man has an eye for color that you would not believe!  Without him, my businesses could not be successful or exist, and my love, gratefulness, respect, and appreciation for him will be never-ending.

I’ve always been a little creative, I guess.  That’s what my mother always said, but I never saw it.  I just thought it was normal to create and design.  I definitely have an opinion of what I think looks good or not so good.  I like and dislike certain fonts, color combinations, and wording, and if asked, I’ll tell you what I really think!  I suppose this attention to detail is why it takes me months to create and list a new collection.  I began sewing in the seventh grade, in Mrs. Sargent’s home economics class.  Since then, I’ve always had a sewing machine… or two…or now, SIX!  I started out as an interior design major but abruptly changed to dental hygiene.  I practiced as a dental hygienist for 12 years before I decided to quit my job that I loved to focus on my growing businesses.  It wasn’t long before I realized that there were just not enough hours in the day to do EVERYTHING! 

 Creating innovative designs is my favorite part of my business.  I have so many ideas at any given time, and I only wish I had more hours in the day to express them.  It is a liberating feeling.  My designs and collections originate here, with me, and not from other artists’ work.  What you are purchasing is most certainly my idea turned into a product featuring my expression.  I get my ideas while brainstorming (or even while trying to sleep at 3 o’clock in the morning).  It may be a piece of fabric that inspires a collection, or it may be an animal, idea, or a picture that my three-year-old, Bella, points out.  It may be my ten-year-old daughter, Sadie’s, love of peace signs and recycling that inspires a collection.  That’s usually how it happens.  Out of the blue, a thought comes along, and from it, I’ve soon planned an entire 50 piece collection in my head.  It may take six months to get it designed, created, photographed, and listed online, but it’s all up there waiting!

  I thrive on finding the best quality products and supplies for my creations.  I've been through countless samples of bodysuits, burp cloths, bibs, fabrics, and other supplies to find the perfect match for my business.  After all, I AM making clothing and gifts for very special little ones, who deserve the best of the best.  I’m proud of my original designs, and I feel that they should be expressed on top quality clothing, using the best supplies available, even if the cost is a few dollars more for top-of-the-line products.

 I've always been a collector (aka 'hoarder') of ribbons and fabrics.  I'll never have enough!  After reorganizing my ribbons, I realized that I had over 2500 different ribbon patterns.  My passion for textiles sparked the beginning of my new adventure.  My ribbon website, www.polkadotribbonspot.com, was born this year!  It features several of the ribbons that I use for my Bella Claire Baby products.  Due to a high demand and requests of matching ribbons for hair bows, packaging, craft projects, scrapbooking, or even decorating a special birthday cake, I decided to make my ribbon available for purchase.  Take a look, and check back often for new designs and color combinations.  Our ribbon collection will be expanding soon!
